Tufted Puffin Bracelet

Tufted Puffin Bracelet Inspiration: Tufted Puffins are distinguishable from a Horned Puffin by their white faces and gold tufts of hair, hence the name Tufted Puffin.  A Horned Puffin, according to All About Birds, has "horns," which are small fleshy spikes that extend above the eyes of breeding adults.

Tufted Puffins are found along the coast and coastal islands of Alaska.  You can best see them on wildlife cruises heading out of Seward, Valdez, and Kodiak. In winter, their feet and beak turns gray.  However, once spring comes around, their feet and beak turn a vibrant orange. Tufted Puffins begin breeding at age three, and they mate for life.

Our Interpretation: The center orange recycled glass bead represents the beautiful orange beak of the Tufted Puffin, while the two gold druzy beads on either side represent their gold tufts of hair.  On either side of the Gold Druzy beads are White Howlite beads representing the white face of the Tufted Puffin. The black agate beads  represent the black of the puffins' body, and the two brass spacers behind the black beads represent the feet of the puffin.
