Alaskan Water Drops Bracelet Inspiration: Every spring, the rivers began to thaw, the streams begin to run freely, and the falling snow turns to the drizzle that Alaskans are, oh, so familiar with. We live on the Matanuska River, and we’re seeing the thick, heavy ice, that has encapsulated the river all winter, thin.

Soon, the pussy willow trees will be sprouting their catkins, robins will be filling our days with song, and our state bird, no, not the ptarmigan, will be awake and hungry!

Our Interpretation: Aquamarine. Aqua is the Latin word for water, and marine means of the sea.

It’s also the birthstone for the month of March.

I took the interpretation of the light blueish-green color of the stone to represent the water that’s beginning to run again, along with the life that is getting ready to burst forth as spring deepens its hold on Alaska.

The single 14K gold-filled bead represents the sunshine that will soon not set over our gorgeous state!
